Registered speech-language pathologist Harald Emgård started out as an actor but took early on an interest in teaching. He has worked in many arenas, from academia to professional during more than 30 years. He has held the position as Senior Lecturer in Voice and Speech, as well as Principal of Malmö Theatre Academy at Lunds Universitet in Sweden. 

Harald has worked at a number of theatres and opera houses in Sweden as well as for Swedish Radio and Television guiding actors, dancers, musical artists and opera singers. He is also a regular lecturer at the Speech-language pathologist program at Lunds Universitet and at Åbo Akademi, University of Åbo in Finland. Furthermore, he teaches in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service and in the Educational Institute of the Swedish Church.

Harald is internationally active and a regular lecturer/coach among other places at Taipei Performing Arts Centre, Taipei National University of the Arts, National opera of Vietnam and Hanoi Academy of Arts and in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. He has been a vocal coach in many European cities such as Copenhagen, London, Berlin, Florence and St. Petersburg and in New York. You can see his former students on stage and screen in Sweden, in London’s West End, in Berlin and in leading parts in Hollywood movies.  

Harald’s book Developing your Voice was first published at Methuen & Co, UK and later translated into Mandarin at Bookman Books in Taipei. The book bridges in an excellent way the gap between vocal science and practical exercises.
